Tutorial: A Gift for a Special Friend Pillow Boxes

Step One

This is such a fun gift for a special friend!

These Kraft Pillow boxes comes in a pack of 10 for only $5. They are the perfect size for a small Gift or Gift Card and the White polka dots are so versatile.

Step Two

My inspiration for this box came from the card I cased from page 11 from the Annual Catalog using the Tasteful Texture Bundle. Just as the card I am using the same color combo and elements.

First step was Stampin the vintage looking stamp in Mint Macaron ink on Mint Macaron Cardstock. It is 1-3/4” wide and 6-3/4” long.

I scored it at 3-1/8” and 6-1/4”. I added some Tear & Tape Adhesive to the little 1/2” flap so the band can slide off the box.

Step Three

Next I die cut the scallop looking shapes from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock.

Step Five

Then comes the tricky part. I used the largest skinny of the Stitched Rectangle Framelits but because the Rectangle wasn’t long enough I had to make a couple of adjustments. First line up the die in one end and then place the cutting plate on top but slide it so it doesn’t lay on top of the other end of the die.

Step Six

Then roll through. Your die cut will look like this.

Step Seven

Then turn your plate and repeat in the other end again making sure the plate doesn’t lay on top of the die in the middle.

Step Eight

The Stitched shapes works wonderfully for this because you can “hook” them in to an already Stitched piece. So viola ...custom sized shapes!!!

Assembly & Supplies

Process

Next I adhered the panel to the band with a couple of Glue Dots making sure that they didn’t touch the box. At this point I am working with the box flat which makes everything so much easier.

My sentiment from the Tasteful Textures Bundle is stamped in Mossy Meadow on a Whisper White Thick Cardstock scrap and I trimmed it to size apx. 2-1/8” x 1”. Under the sentiment I adhered some of the gorgeous Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon with Glue Dots. It is doubled over so you can see both sides of the ribbon! Love it! Next I added some Dimensionals on the back and adhered on top of the Rectangle.

Final steps to embellish! I tied a small bow with Linen Thread and adhered with a Glue Dot. Same goes for the flower from the Bird Ballad Trinkets. Loving all these greens together!

This box together with my card makes the perfect thank you gift set to give to someone special, don't you think?
