Tutorial: Bird Ballad Thank You Card

Step One

It has been a while since I used my Shimmer Paint how about you?

The Frost White was the perfect choice for the Birch Background Stamp.

I just love this stamp and am excited to use it for lots of Holiday projects the next many months.

Step Two

I used my Stamparatus with the Birch stamp making the stamping go so much faster.

I used a sponge dauber to sponge the paint on to the stamp and then made sure to give the stamp a good rub for a nice Impression.

After the paint was dry I adhered the front to a skinny mat of Whisper White regular Cardstock.

Step Three

Next I Inked up the Free as a Bird stamp with Memento Black Ink and stamped on a piece of Whisper White Thick Cardstock.

I used the Stitched Nested Label dies which are part of the Bird Ballad Suite and cut it out with my diecutting machine.

Step Four

I colored the birds in with Pool Party Combo Pack with the light and dark blends Markers, flowers with Calypso Coral light and dark blends, leaves with Old Olive light and dark blends, branch with Crumb Cake light and dark blends, and Pumpkin Pie light for the birds’ beaks.

For a finishing touch I added a bit of shimmer to the branch with the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

Assembly & Supplies

Process

Using a strip of the Bird Ballad Designer Series Paper I layered two panels of Pool Party and Crumb Cake Cardstock embossed with the new Scripted 3D Embossing Folder. For a more shabby chic look, I tore the edges of the Cardstock. Then I glued the layers underneath the Designer Series Paper and glued the whole piece on top of the card front.

Wrap Linen Thread around the Card front twice and tie a knot. Adhere the Bird image with Dimensionals towards the top back making sure that the twine could slide to the left.

Next, I stamped Hello in Memento Black on Pear Pizzazz Cardstock. Punch out with the Classic Label Punch and then trim the other end into a pennant shape to adjust the length. Pierce a hole with the Take your Pick Tool at the end of the sentiment and thread through the Linen Thread and tie a bow. I used a Glue dot behind the sentiment to hold it in place.

Finish the card by adhering it to the card front with Dimensionals!

Such a beautiful card with a touch of shine. This was a bit time consuming but so worth it don’t you think?!
